Metal signs are everywhere! Drive down the road or walk through any building or parking lot and you’re bound to see these signs attached to poles, fences and structures. The majority of the metal signs you will see are made of anodized aluminum.
Anodizing is a process in which metal is electrically charged to bond a coating to its outer surface. This process adds a smooth surface, in a variety of colors, to create metal signs that are durable and corrosion-resistant. The smooth surface makes for an ideal substrate to create signs, as vinyl lettering and films will securely adhere to it.
Aluminum signs come in a variety of thicknesses, sizes and shapes. It is easily drilled through when compared to other metal signs and its lightweight nature allows it to be fastened to surfaces without a tremendous amount of support. Custom shapes can be cut, and typical sign blanks can have rounded corners added for safety.
Common Uses for Aluminum Metal Signs
From a small placard of just a few inches to sheets 5′ x 10′ and larger, these metal signs can be used for a number of purposes. Some of the most popular uses include:
- Warning & Safety Signs
- Parking Signs
- Tow-Away Signs
- Private Street Signs
- Warehouse Signs
- Real Estate Signs
- Contractor Job Signs
- Custom License Plates
- and more!
Sizes of Metal Signs
Aluminum sign blanks come in a variety of standard sizes. Common pre-fabricated blank sizes include: 12″x18″, 18″x24″, 24″x30″, 36″x48″ and more. These metal signs are some of the most common types we create.
Larger metal signs are often constructed from entire pre-cut sheets of aluminum, or can also be custom fabricated to fit your specifications. These larger aluminum sign sheets can be 4′ or 5′ wide by 8′, 10′, or 12′ long.
Aluminum sign blanks come in either the standard, opaque finish in a variety of colors, or can also be constructed of reflective aluminum that allows metal signs to be more visible at night. Pricing of metal sign materials will increase as their thickness and size increases, and reflective blanks also are more expensive than standard, opaque metal signs.
Metal signs can also be completely covered with media printed directly onto either opaque or reflective vinyl films, as well as have ink directly printed onto the signs. Selection of these methods depends upon your project and will be discussed at the time of proposal.
Custom License Plates
U-Stickit Graphics also can create custom license plates for your company’s fleet! Don’t forget that people see your vehicles coming and going, and there usually isn’t much room on the front of most vehicles for a company logo.
Creating custom license plates gives a great way to slap a logo on the front of your vehicle, even in the case of a minimally branded owner or manager’s vehicle. These plates start as low as $10 each and can be ordered in quantities of 20 or higher.
